Monica & Nicolas | Married | Brandon MB Wedding Photographer

As I'm typing this post, Westman is closed for a snow day.  I can't help but think about Monica & Nicolas' winter wedding and how grateful I was for it not being a snow day like today, because the ceremony was in Brandon MB and reception was in Rocanville SK, so highways closed = not an option!  Snow is pretty for photos, but not nice for driving 2 hours...Thankfully they were blessed with a cold & windy Manitoba winter day - safe for driving - no blizzards, yay!  Outdoor photos left them feeling frozen pretty quickly, so we found some natural light & nature indoors and stayed comfortable, relaxed and enjoyed the process, no need to freeze!  It was so cold, I captured a sundog on the drive to Rocanville, where they enjoyed a very warm reception.  The whole hall was either filled with laughter or wiping away tears (myself included!) as emotional speeches, videos & meaningful memories warmed hearts.  And those first dance moments! That first real, quiet, intimate moment alone where it all hits you, all at once and your heart explodes...all the feels right there!!  LOVE!  And that is why, I do, what I do.  Enjoy!

Thank you to Thomas Brown for joining me in capturing the men getting ready!

Jennifer & Baron | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

The first thing that Jennifer said to me as I arrived to photograph her wedding day was "apparently getting married doesn't agree with my stomach..." ...and we laughed, and then I jumped into photographing the gorgeous details that made this day feel so amazing.  Nobody wants to feel sick on their wedding day, but it happens, and you just need to make the best of it.  Feeling sick was not going to stop Jennifer from enjoying her best day ever, just take a look at her radiant smile!  I am so glad that these two found me at the 2017 Westman Wedding Expo in Brandon MB, because their day was filled with love and I was honoured to capture it all.  Their cute little daughter, who is also the flower girl, enjoyed trying on lip gloss and wearing a twirly dress, and despite the fact that I diligently took 500 frames to get one photo with her looking at the camera, I also managed to capture an image of her giving mama a kiss on the cheek. Their story continues with a visit to Grandma in the hospital. She wasn't able to make it out to the wedding celebration, so it was important for Baron, Jennifer and her sisters to stop in to spend a few moments with her on their wedding day. Just look at the smile on Grandma's face, it meant so much to her!  Jennifer left her gorgeous bouquet to brighten up her Grandma's room, and remind her how much she is loved. - Melt. My. Heart. -  Of course the crisp weather also called for a quick stop at the Keg in Brandon for a warm up round of shots, so fun, so many memories made!  What a heart-warming day, these photos will remind them of how that day felt, and all of the meaningful memories that were made.  Enjoy!

Jenna & Jason | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

When Jenna originally booked me to photograph her wedding in Clear Lake, it was for September 2016 at the Elkhorn Manor.  But Jenna got in touch with me in spring of 2017, to let me know that her and Jason were now expecting a little bundle of joy around that time too!  So much excitement, but a lot happening at one time, so she rescheduled her wedding for September 2017, and I was thrilled that I was still available for the new date. Because these are the best days…and as I experience your wedding day alongside you, crying and laughing behind my camera, I’m freezing all the feels, all the happiest moments, to create an album so you will remember exactly how that day felt.  The criers, the huggers…hilarious memories shared, heartwarming stories…and tequila!!! Because to get that couple to kiss - guests did shots of tequila - and WOW, did THAT ever go over well!  (Take notes here, seriously!). Add in a gorgeous tent and ceremony site where this all took place, and talk about a good time!  Enjoy!

Nicole & Ryan | Married | MB & SK Wedding Photographer

Ryan and I were friends in high school, way back in the good ole days! When he first contacted me, he said they were looking for a wedding photographer who they would be able to have some fun with, and they wanted fun photos that they would enjoy looking at, and he thought of me! I instantly knew we would work well together, and that there would be so many fun memories to capture, so I was very excited with the opportunity to photograph their wedding in my hometown, Yorkton, SK.  And it was SO much fun!  From the crazy girls, to the jokes from the boys, to the party bus, to the hilarious MC, to Hurricane Hollywood who kept the good times rockin' all night long, this was the kind of day that you don't have time to take selfies because you're having THAT much fun, and I was there to capture all of the fun so they could immerse themselves in simply enjoying every minute!  I am excited to share a few highlights from Ryan & Nicole's wedding day, I hope these images will take them back to how amazing their best day ever felt in the moment!  Enjoy!

Roslynne & Mitch | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

I met Roslynne and Mitch in Inglis MB to do their engagement photos.  Roslynne told me that they didn't want a bunch of dull photos of them just looking at the camera with a forced smile, they wanted natural images with real smiles, so I felt we were a perfect match!  After doing the engagement photo session together, they knew how I worked, and were total naturals with the camera around them for the whole wedding day.  They enjoyed themselves to the fullest and completely immersed themselves in the moment, and I captured the magic of their best day, out in nature, overlooking the river with the Manitoba hills in the background, it was an absolutely beautiful day  filled with love, laughter, tears and joy!  I want these photos to remind them of how that day felt.  Enjoy!

Karlie & Cam | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

Karlie & Cam's wedding in Clear Lake, MB was the kind of wedding filled with deep, authentic emotion. The kind that makes the photographer ugly cry behind her camera during the ceremony, and laugh out loud during the reception!  Party Professionals created an absolutely gorgeous, elegant ceremony & reception space at the Elkhorn Resort, where guests were treated to a very special occasion.  During photos we got caught out in the rain for a very short, but heavy downpour.  It didn't last long and we got out to capture some beautiful photographs perfect for wall & album art, featuring Clear Lake's impressive scenery.  We also had to make a stop by the 17th hole at the Clear Lake golf course...it's where Cam proposed to Karlie, she said yes, so we had to go back for a wedding photo to make it official, what a meaningful memory!  Time flies when you're having this much fun, and I am excited for them to relive the feeling of their best day ever through their photos.  Enjoy!

Kendra & James | Married | Brandon, MB wedding photographer

Being a prairie girl myself, I may have gotten a little excited when Kendra told me that she was planning *A Very Prairie Wedding*!  There was Saskatchewan flag colours, potash, tiger lilies, canola, and my personal favourite part of prairie weddings - perogies!  Their ceremony was held in the beautiful Vine Chapel at Asessippi Ski Area & Resort with a beautiful view overlooking the Shell Valley, with the reception which followed on site in the Sugar Shacks.  As I photographed the speeches it became very evident that Kendra & James LOVE board games, so the playing cards were a very personal detail unique to them.  Their day was all about having so much fun and enjoying themselves, and that feeling of joy & laughter is captured in these photographs as memories that will bring a smile to their face and warm their hearts for many, many years!  Enjoy!
