Baby Loic | Kingston Photography

I love how sleepy baby photos give you the warm fuzzy feelings of peace, joy, love.  I also think it's important to photograph the real moments in between, a close snuggle with mom, a kiss from dad, a playful sister discovering her new baby brother.  These little faces grow so quickly and we have forever preserved newborn baby Loic and all of his precious new perfect baby skin, sleepy smiles and tiny fingers.  Enjoy!

Baby Lucas | Kingston Photography

What a sweet little guy baby Lucas was for his very first photo session!  He was so calm, just observing the scene and then fell into a deep sleep so we could get some beautiful photos of him and his family and all of that baby love.  Here is a sneak peek from our photography session, a blend of natural portraits and the real, candid moments of this special time in their lives.  Enjoy!

We captured these photos at Lemoine Point because Alice and Sarah spend a lot of time there, feeding the birds almost daily, just as Sarah's mom did with her.  These photos will be so much more meaningful when they look back on them in a few years and bring back these wonderful memories.  It truly is a snapshot of their life's history, and I hope these photos will warm their family's hearts and preserve these memories for many years to come.  Enjoy!

Thanksgiving weekend is such a great time of year.  The leaves are setting a beautiful colored backdrop and families are getting together, making it a perfect time to do family photos!  We managed to not only do group and individual family photos in the colorful outdoors, but also inside Kathryn's beautiful home as well.  What's great is that in a couple short hours we got a large variety of family groupings both posed as well as some more candid fun photos!  I had a really great time photographing this beautiful family, they were so much fun and a pleasure to work with.  I think even the dogs enjoyed the photo session!  Enjoy your sneak peeks!

Sarah & Colin engaged | Kingston photographer

Both Sarah and Colin are born and raised in Kingston, so they wanted their engagement photos to showcase a little bit of Kingston, and a little bit of them, and a lot of fun, cute, happy times as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives together.  I had a lot of fun with these two, they are cool and calm and with just the slightest bit of direction were complete naturals in front of the camera.  I can't wait for their wedding day!  Enjoy!

So it was finally time to take my serious camera out and about with my own little family and capture some lazy days of summer memories.  I didn't even plan it out, this was just a true day in the life of us.  Genuine shaggy summer hair, boys wearing whatever shirt is clean and a couple chocolate mustaches to boot.  These photos really tell the story of us and bookmark this moment in time of our life, and do so in a way that warms my heart and makes me smile.  The group hugs, the baby hugs, the chasing, the laughing, the wrestling, the biking, the love.  Enjoy!

Photo credit to my husband, Bradley Knoll for the photos that include myself! :)

Nana and Family | Kingston Photographer

Nana was celebrating a big birthday, so we got the whole family together for some photos. I think it's great to do this with our growing families every once in awhile.  I love photographing children because I think they make me feel like a kid again, I love their carefree spirit, innocence and zest for life and exploring.  Of course we had to get the photos where everyone is looking into the camera smiling, but we also need a few good running around shots and definitely a couple of "airplanes"! :)  Enjoy!

I really love to photograph and document the lives of families as they grow, and it is so amazing to see how the children have changed, especially when the first shoot was a newborn session!  This little girl is a total sweetheart and just loved exploring this nature trail.  She decided to make me work for these images on a very hot, hot summer day, but it makes capturing and sharing these sneak peeks all the more worth it.  Enjoy!

This completely adorable, stylish little lady picked out her own yellow dress for this photo shoot and I absolutely love her choice! I think it's a pretty cute little reminder of how she was deciding what she wanted to wear even at this young age, when looking back on these photos for years to come.  The true expressions of children when they are playing with rocks or sticks or flowers or their family, just sitting or running, that is what I focus on capturing, I feel it brings back so many more memories than just a pretty smile or a staged pose.  Enjoy!

My favourite place to take photos is the place you love to spend the most time so the kids are already comfortable and the photos will bring back fond memories for years to come, not only because of the super cute faces but the memories you hold from the choice of location!  And when a certain little guy asks me to do a fun shot - just for him - and gives me tons of nice smiles in return - those are the best kinds of shots.  We did a lot of photos & various locations at Grass Creek Park and here are just a few fun teasers.  Enjoy!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family out in the country.  We just went for a little walk and captured some playful moments in the hot sunny sun.  A lot more freckles and a few hay splinters later (for me!), and we got some beautiful, natural images full of love and pure happiness.  Enjoy!

Jessica + David | Kingston wedding photographer

Emotional and heart-warming are the first words that come to mind when thinking about what to write about Jessica and David's beautiful wedding.  I captured so many moments filled with love, joy, tears and laughter which will evoke the wonderful feeling of their wedding day for years and years to come.  We did formal photos at RMC where I have photographed many times, but always seem to find new ways to make the most of the location and create unique images.  The wedding was held at the Holiday Inn Waterfront hotel, which had a perfectly beautiful natural backdrop for the ceremony as well as a reception room which let in a ton of natural light and provided a spectacular view.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your most special day.  Enjoy!

I have a lot of experience photographing young children, and having 3 children of my own I know that the young ones need a lot of breaks to shake the sillies out and I have a lot of patience, always at the ready to snap a genuine smile or a fun moment discovering neat things in the lake or an impromptu favorite song and dance riding on mom and dad's shoulders!  Enjoy!

Nicki + Patrick | Kingston wedding photography

Nicki and Patrick's rustic wedding was naturally set in the country at Myles Acres, complete with an old wooden fence, a barn, and a perfectly hot sunny day.  Part way through wedding planning Nicki announced that she and Patrick were expecting a baby and that she would have a baby bump at the wedding!  What was even more exciting was that the cake cutting revealed the gender of baby on the way!  (**spoiler alert!**)  I couldn't be happier, or more excited to capture all of these memories and details of their very special day.  Heartwarming and beautiful.  Enjoy!

Baby Alice | Kingston Newborn Photographer

Take a look at this gorgeous, smiling, happy little red-headed babe!  Little Alice was lucky enough to receive several beautiful handmade blankets for her birth day, many of which we were able to incorporate into her newborn photographs.  It was also very special to capture moments of mom and baby at the piano, as the intentions for having a piano were just for Alice, and as I was finishing up the photo shoot, Alice had her first fussy moment of the day (seriously!).  Into the wrap carrier and together they both sat down at the piano.  She calmed right down, I was thrilled to capture these moments for them!  Enjoy!

Having a baby is one of the most exciting times of your life, there is so much anticipation.  As a mother, I think it is really important to not only photograph the baby bump and it's perfect and beautiful shape, but also to capture the feeling of life before the little one arrives. The calm, quiet, stillness of life, the love, the excitement, the anticipation, it's all true gold. I am very excited to capture more precious images once the perfect little bundle arrives, and some sweet moments that will soon fly by in the blink of an eye.  It's such a beautiful time!

Jaclyn + Raf | Kingston wedding photography

What a warm winter wedding, complete with wedding wands, which guests would wave when they felt wonderful!!  (I had to.. ;)  Jaclyn and Raf enjoyed an amazing early ceremony and brunch reception.  They thought out every detail and personalized their wedding which made it very unique and memorable for their guests and themselves.  Including one of the most interesting and beautiful bouquets I have ever seen!  The rain was a big surprise.  We were hoping for big chunky flakes of snowy goodness, but the rain stopped by the time we did formal photos post reception.  We were able to get some shots outdoors before the sun set, utilizing some of Kingston's great architectural beauties. Jaclyn and Raf are two very genuine hearts, the wedding was warm, inviting, and full of emotion, it was a true pleasure to be a part of their wedding day.  Enjoy a peek into their day!
