Nicole & Ryan | Engaged | Brandon MB wedding photographer

When Ryan contacted me about photographing his wedding next summer, helooking for a photographer who had the type of personality to bring out real smiles, nothing awkward or robotic looking.  Since we were friends back in our high school days, he knew that I love to laugh, and that we were going to have a great time doing photos together!  He was right!  Nicole and Ryan were so much fun and I can't wait to photograph their wedding back in my hometown of Yorkton, Saskatchewan next summer!  Enjoy! :)

Karlie & Cam | Engaged | Brandon MB wedding photographer

Karlie told me that she has always dreamed of a fall wedding, but it's not the best fit with her work schedule.  So, we decided to make sure we got some of that beautiful fall colour into their engagement photos!  I usually suggest having your engagement photos done in a different season than the wedding photos to add variety to the wall portraits.  These two were so much fun, loved to laugh and we just had a great afternoon and captured some carefree, fun photos filled with genuine smiles.  Enjoy! :)

Bonnie & Bill | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

Bonnie & Bill had an intimate wedding on their own lakefront property, which was one of the most beautiful ceremony locations I have had the opportunity of photographing.  Bonnie wanted some artistic wedding photography that included their fishing boat, the waterfront as well as the beautiful lane lined with trees.  After my consultation with Bonnie at her home, I noticed that the art she enjoyed on her walls was full of color, so it was something I kept in mind when composing the shot and choosing locations.  Bill ended up on crutches for their wedding day, but it absolutely didn't stop us from getting beautiful photographs in each of the areas that were important to them. Thank you Bonnie & Bill for choosing me to create your wedding portraits that are filled with beautiful scenery and emotion.  Enjoy! :)

Mandy & Thomas | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

When my fellow wedding photographer Mandy, from Mandy Wark Photography asked me to photograph her wedding, I was really excited and honoured to be chosen & trusted by another photographer.  Then she told me that there would actually be 4 photographers in the wedding party and the nervousness set in!  Then she started asking me if I was nervous or not, so I said  "Sure I am! ... but I've got this!"  So we start taking photos, and Mandy & Thomas get out there, and I tell them to stand over here, and I'm going to go over there to see what it looks like, and I turn around and, WOW!  They not only looked amazing, dress was perfect, hair was gorgeous, flowers - amazing, but when these two got in front of my camera that day, what really struck me was how comfortable they were with each other, and how completely in love they both were.  I mean, I photograph love for a living, and these two have a connection that stories are written about.  Not only did I love doing portraits with Mandy & Thomas, but their ceremony was equally beautiful.  Their marriage commissioner, Leann, had everyone smiling and feeling the love with a very personal ceremony, and if you know Mandy at all, you know she is a huge supporter of Funds For Furry Friends, so it was perfectly fitting that she walked down the aisle with a furry friend!  To top it all off Bryan rocked an awesome party, kept us all laughing and entertained with lots of stories, games and dancing (even if he did make the vendor table eat last...I forgive!!)  Thank you again Mandy & Thomas for trusting me to capture these moments for you!  Enjoy!! :)

Amanda & Cory | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

When Amanda and I were discussing ideas for meaningful portrait locations for their wedding in Brandon, Manitoba, she said that they love to go on long motorcycle rides in the country.  So, we decided to document those memories by incorporating the motorcycle into their wedding photography!  The other detail that drew me into their wedding was that the immediate family was the wedding party, and I absolutely loved that.  I love capturing genuine human connection on wedding days, where two people strengthen their connection to each other, and two families join together, and everyone feels a huge sense of connection to something bigger than themselves! It is just an amazing feeling on wedding days, and that is what I set out to capture, along with all of the personal details that make the day so beautiful.  Enjoy!

Melissa & Mike | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

Melissa and Mike's wedding day in Ninette, Manitoba was so full of laughter and pure enjoyment, it was an absolute pleasure to document!  The best part of wedding photography is being able to capture the real moments that take place throughout the day that will create memories for the rest of their lives.  Bridesmaids sharing hilarious stories while getting ready, the excitement of trying to remove another bridesmaid's stubborn earring, sooo many laughs during portraits, a couple rides on a golf cart, and a quick stop for shots at the bar!  At one point during portraits I needed to climb a hill to "get the shot" on the grain bins, but unfortunately there was a creek I needed to get across.  Luckily for me, Mike comes rolling in with a palette loaded on a ZOOM BOOM, so I hopped on, crossed the creek, climbed the hill and "got the shot"!  Always an adventure, and I love that!!  Thank you to Janna MacDonald for photographing the guys getting ready as well as managing the photo booth.  Enjoy! :)

Jolene & Evan | Married | Brandon MB wedding photographer

The moment I met Jolene & Evan at the Westman Wedding Expo in Brandon, MB, I knew I wanted to work with them.  There is something about meeting a couple, when personalities just click, and you know you're going to be a great match!  I don't usually organize all of the details with the groom, however Evan did an awesome job.  He worked closely with Dave Ternier, with Special Request Weddings to plan their wedding day, and together they created a wedding filled with meaningful memories and so many laughs.  Even when Jolene's brother said "WE HAVE to do a photo by the CHICKEN COOP!!"...I said, "challenge accepted!"  You will see that image if you scroll down.  It was an absolute pleasure to capture the feeling of such a meaningful day filled with so much joy, laughter, and many lucky shoulder massages from a favourite aunt!  This was officially my first wedding in Manitoba, and I must say, Miniota MB, you did NOT disappoint!  Incredible scenery, an amazing couple and a beautiful, meaningful day filled with memories.  Enjoy!

Michelle & Adam | Engaged | Brandon MB wedding photographer

I had a draw for an engagement photography session at my booth at the Westman Wedding Expo in Brandon Manitoba this year, and Michelle was the winner!  Michelle and I were deciding on a location for their engagement photos.  I always ask couples what they love to do together and ask about any locations that may have special meaning.  My goal is to remind people of their best memories in life, and make them feel the love through visual reminders of those memories.  To me, a cherished photo is more than just a pretty smile, it holds a memory and a feeling. Michelle told me that they spend a lot of time working on their yard together, which also happened to be the place where he proposed, so it was the ideal location to document these memories of love & connection. Enjoy!

Melissa & Mike | Engaged | Brandon Manitoba wedding photographer

I met with Melissa and we talked for a little bit, and it was clear that they love the country life.  It wasn't hard to find the perfect location for engagement photos near Brandon, Manitoba that included fields of grass, the prairie sky, trees and a rustic barn to document everything they love.  Most importantly their beautiful family, who was so much fun to work with! They were total naturals out here, add in the bright summer sun, a verrrry windy day, and you end up with images that make you feel the love and remind you of carefree, summer days.  I can't wait to photograph their wedding day!  Enjoy!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing fellow wedding photographers, Mandy & Thomas from Mandy Wark Photography!  These two are so close and comfortable with each other, which made it easy to capture the connection they have with each other, and with the newest little addition soon to join their family.   I hope these images make them smile and feel the love.  Enjoy!

Jolene & Evan engaged | Brandon Manitoba wedding photographer

From the first time I drove past Brandon University, I knew I wanted to do an engagement photography session there. The architecture, interesting walkways, nicely landscaped area is a perfect area for photos.  Turns out, Jolene & Evan spent a whole lot of time here, and this place will really remind them of this time in their life when looking back on these photos.  They got a great mix of posed & candid shots, as well as University & could-have-been-anywhere settings.  We went out to enjoy ourselves, and these images will remind them of all of the very best times they spent here, I know it will make them smile and feel that feeling for a long, long time.  These two were so much fun, I can't wait to be their wedding photographer just outside of Brandon, Manitoba this summer!  Enjoy!

Jace turns 1 | Brandon Manitoba photographer

First birthdays are always a big moment for everyone.  It's the first time this little guy has ever gotten a cake that is just for him - and this little mister got to smash the living daylights out of it!  He really enjoyed tearing into that train cake, and I really enjoyed photographing all of his cute expressions of pure joy and excitement.  The train cake was from Courtney's Cake Creations in Brandon, Manitoba, and while I didn't have a chance to taste it before Jace destroyed it, I think the photographs say it all (mmm, cake!).  Enjoy!

Naturally Amourified & Pop Up Shop | Brandon Manitoba Photographer

When Jennifer Moes at Naturally Amourified cuts my hair, we always end up in some really good conversation.  This day, we decided I needed to photograph her salon in the Canex mall in Shilo, MB.  It was pretty cool because she had also organized a Pop-Up Shop in the mall that day hosting some great local vendors, so I took a couple images from the event as well.  Enjoy!
